Giggling in the Night
Background:
Jason and Crystal had had a normal childhood, or what they thought was normal. You see not everything is what it seems, their mother, has cancer. Shortly after the twins have their summer break, their mother dies, and they are left with a father, who is starting to act strangely to another woman, the same way he would treat mom…..
It was October 26th, 1926, Jason and Crystal were playing outside, excited for the cool fall air and for their 5th birthday today! David, their father, was preparing for the small party he had put together for the twins. When he looked up to call the twins inside, he saw her, a young, beautiful woman that just made his heart race. He wanted her; he couldn’t just let her walk by him without going to introduce himself. But, wait, he couldn’t, he had to think of the children, they had just lost their mother, and for him to want this other woman, it was absurd! He pushed the thought away and went to go look for the twins.
Jason and Crystal were playing in their front lawn when, out of nowhere, Jason saw a white hand beckon him over; he went to see who was calling him over, he raced to the cellar where the hand was coming from with Crystal on his heels. As they make it to the bottom of the cellar, the twins discover that the ghostly white hand belongs to none other, their dead mother. The twins stand there in shock, a million scenarios run through their heads to try to help them comprehend their mother standing right in front of them in a ghostly form. As the twins stand there in astonishment, their newly found ghost mother, decides to speak, “Darlings, oh how I’ve missed you so, but there is something you need to know.” “What is it?” reply the curious twins in unison. “Your father has been thinking about another woman, I need your help to get rid of her for me.” The ghostly creature replies. “But why?” asks Crystal. “SHE IS A DISGUSTING, DIRTY, LYING, PROSTITUTE THAT HAS TAKEN OVER YOUR FATHERS MIND!!!” She screams in reply. As she tries to calm and collect herself, she notices that she has frightened her children, in a smooth, silky whisper she says, “Children, children, don’t look so scared, remember, I am your mother, I would never hurt you. But, I will tell you what you need to do to that harlot.”
For three days the twins stalk this woman, only knowing it was her because their mother never left her side. For those three days, the children learned her schedule, where she lived, who she talked to, and where she would be when they attacked. On the night of the fourth day, they put their plan to action. Crystal and Jason abduct the woman, (who they earlier learned her name was Brenda) and take her into the cellar, where they torture her all night. They did unspeakable things to her, made her sit in a chair full of nails, slowly, pulled her fingernails off one, by, one, they cut her face, arms and legs inscribing devilish words to make her go crazy and wish Satan himself would take her away, then at dawn they take her home.
It’s October 31st, or better known as Halloween, it’s almost nighttime and Brenda is worried about tonight, will what happened the night before happen again? She doesn’t know and decides to dismiss the thought, as soon as she starts to fall asleep, she sees two small figures climb through her window, they tie and gag her and take her to the attic of their house, where their ghost mother is waiting. “What shall we do with her tonight mother?” ask the twins. “Kill her, finish my bidding.” The mother says coldly as she stands in the back of the room, watching her children slaughter this woman who had ‘tried’ to steal her husband.
The next morning, David wakes up and notices a strange dark red liquid coming from the ceiling. He decides to investigate; slowly he ascends the stairs to see what is dripping the thick, red liquid. As he gets to the top of the stairs to the attic, he sees a hand, covered in the dark liquid, he sees its blood, as he gets a closer look he can see that it’s only half a person hanging from the ceiling.
As he stands in horror, he can hear laughter run though the house. David decides to leave the hanging body there. He gets to the main part of the house and can hear the laughter running outside the house. He goes outside and calls for his children, he waits, when there is no answer of words, but an answer in giggles, he keeps walking around the house, and sees the doors to the cellar are open. He descends to the cellar, seeing a trail of blood going to the middle of the floor, where he sees the other half of the body, hanging, slowly swinging, back, forth, back, forth. In the midst of the moment, he hears the giggling again, he turns, slowly, and sees Jason and Crystal, standing with blood all over their clothes, hands and faces. Jason and Crystal have creepy smiles on their faces, they turn and start to giggle again, and David starts to walk towards where the children are looking and sees a ghostly figure.
As he starts to speak, his children run, he can see that the children wrote something in the blood, it reads, You should’ve stayed loyal to me David, now you will have to pay the price, just like your little whore girlfriend! Frightened, he starts to back up to the stairs, he can hear his children giggling once again. Then as he turns around he can see his son and daughter holding a pipe and a saw. He starts to run away, but because of all the blood, he slips and falls, his children are on top of him, sawing and beating him, his world is turning red, and as he looks up one last time, he sees his dead wife, staring down at him, with an evil glare, and his world turns black.
